Do I Need Camera Insurance?
Legally speaking, you don’t need camera insurance. That said, camera equipment is often expensive to replace if something happens. Some people assume their photography gear is covered by their home or travel insurance, but many of these policies have restrictions such as single item limits, exclusions for professional use or limits on cover once the kit leaves your home.
With Eversure camera insurance, theft and accidental damage are included as standard, with a number of add-ons also available so you can build your policy around the way you shoot, rather than paying for cover you don’t need.
Need to Leave Your Equipment in a Vehicle?
Sometimes it’s not practical to carry every piece of your camera equipment with you. That’s why in-vehicle cover is standard in all Eversure camera policies, provided your vehicle is locked and alarmed, your equipment is kept out of sight, and there are signs of forced entry. Equipment left overnight or at your home address isn’t covered.
Worried About Losing Your Camera?
Losing your camera can hit just as hard as it being stolen or accidentally damaged. Adding accidental loss to your policy will mean you’re covered if you lose your camera or any of its accessories to a sudden incident you can identify – such as your camera strap breaking, your camera falling into water and can’t be recovered.

Taking your camera abroad? Add worldwide cover and protect your gear when travelling. Whether you’re going on holiday and taking your camera kit with you or you’re a professional whose photography work has taken them overseas, our worldwide cover add-on can help cover your equipment on trips up to 120 days long almost anywhere in the world, as long as the FCDO hasn’t advised again travel to your destination.

If you’re shooting out and about and someone is injured or their property is damaged because of your photography or camera equipment, public liability can help cover legal costs and compensation if you’re found legally responsible.
